So excited that I’m starting a new Christmas tradition for my blog – Christmas tag!! Haven’t done it yet, this is my first! Let’s get started…
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
My favourite is definitely Family man with Nicholas Cage. It’s such a beautiful reminder that family and love are the most important things in life and the joy they bring is irreplaceable!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
We usually make one day trips. We go to visit our relatives and friends, we hike round various towns and admire the decorations and lights;). For Christmas we are home and we go to dinner to my hubby’s parents. For Christmas day we go over to lunch to my parents.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
Holy night. It’s in my heart, especially after my grandma died, as we were always singing it together..
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No, we wait for the morning on Christmas day. Although kids are so anxious they have trouble falling asleep! But, yes, morning after, 6 am;))
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Not a clue! Except for Rudolph of course. I even know his song! I could copy it from Zoe at thetaleofmummyhood, but that’s not fair, right?;)) But I will learn them now! Promise!
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
We have no special new one, sticking with the old ones:) But they are perfect – decorating the tree and house, making paper origami decorations with my daughter, baking cookies, christmas dinner and christmas lunch, visiting christmas fairs.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
It’s real. And every year we have a special one – they are either curved or have a special layout of the branches! But it’s ours and we love it;) But it makes decorating a bit challenging;)).
What’s your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
I absolutely love tartar and french salad with potatoes, carrots, peas, gherkins and mayo and mustard. Yummy;) For desert I love a special kind of cake with tarragon or walnuts. And of course cooked sweet wine!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
If I have a great idea for gifts then I can’t wait to give them! But when I’m out of ideas, I like receiving better;). This year I’m making all the gifts myself! Quite excited for giving!
What is the best Christmas present you have ever received?
My hubby gave me a beautiful winter jacket last year. Love it!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I would love to go to Australia and be among the first to celebrate New Year;))
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
Hmmm…Let’s just say that I love gift bags. Enough said?;) This year I’ve decided my gift decorations will be a red bow with cinnamon stick attached to it! Gifts will be in a jar! Sounds OK?
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
What truth? Are you saying there’s no Santa? Who puts all this gifts under our tree then?;)) It feels like I’ve known it since forever, but still I never stopped believing in the Magic!;)
What makes the holidays special for you?
Everything seems to slow down a bit. I love to spend time with my family, friends. I love making my kids dreams come true. I love the feel of love and joy, filling the air..And I love all the lights, decorations, trees. It makes me feel like a child in a way..
